“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
All but one of my pets have been either rescues or hand-me-overs. I’m incredibly grateful for all of those crazy critters – they taught me the importance of second (and sometimes third or fourth) chances. In Afghanistan, I personally witnessed the massive morale boost that both therapy dogs and our valiant military working dogs gave to service members. Back home in Florida, I witnessed miracles of children with physical and mental disabilities smile as they performed chores all by themselves.
In honor of these non-profits, Kristina Truluck Photography proudly offers free photographic services to non-profit animal and veteran organizations located within 60 miles of Laurel, Maryland. (Depending on my military schedule, I may travel outside this radius, keep your eyes open to see if I’m traveling near your area!)
The first impression is the most important and this is where professional photography comes in! High quality photographs are eye-catching and much more likely to be shared – something that all non-profits benefit from.
In the past, I have worked with:
- Maryland Therapeutic Riding – photographing a Wounded Warrior therapeutic riding session.
- Sarasota Manatee Association for Therapeutic Riding – photographed a day of them working with disabled children. Talk about smiles all around! I can’t wait to go back home and do some Horse Power for Veterans sessions. (I found out about SMART through Manasota Operation Troop Support – thank you Linda!)
- Freedom Hill Horse Rescue – current photographer and poop scooper. I also offer prints of current and former residents of the rescue. 70% of the profit goes towards helping them out! Check out my blog link on Prints for Ponies.
- Horses Help Heroes – photographer and boad member for a non-profit that is dedicated to changing the lives of disabled veterans, active duty military and their families suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury and PTSD.
- This could be you!
